All-in-one Solution
Home Cinema systems offer all you need to enjoy the whole spectrum of listening and watching. You have a selection from a wide choice of playable disc formats: DVD, CD, CD-R, CD-RW, MP3, VCD and JPEG.

Rich sound all around
One centre speaker plus four satellite speakers as well as a sub-woofer are enough to produce the ultimate 3 Dimensional surround effects in any place. Not only for films. You can also use it to listen to your favourite record, music disc or radio programme. This is a real solution for your home cinema system.

DSP
This system of surround sound can also work effectively in a 2 channel (2 speaker) configuration. A Digital Signal Processor normally has a 1Bit Digital-to-Analogue conversion process and provides ultra-fast instruction sequences commonly used in math-intensive signal processing applications. In an audio environment the DSP assists the general purpose of an audio-based home cinema system, such as a microprocessor assists the function of a Personal Computer. However, DSPs are far faster than these types of microprocessor running software applications.

A DSP can filter noise from a signal, remove interference, amplify frequencies and suppress others, encrypt information, or analyze a complex wave form. This process must be handled in real-time, so a DSP is extremely fast to perform that function. For instance, a stereo system handles sound signals of up to 20 kilohertz (20,000 cycles per second), requiring a DSP to perform hundreds of millions of operations per second.

DTS (Digital Theater System)
DTS is the latest digital surround sound system for home theaters. Sound data is compressed in order to reduce the size when it is recorded onto the disk or other
medium, but since the level of compression is much less than Dolby Digital (700Kb/sec DTS against 400Kb/sec Dolby), the quality of data is greater when decoded, resulting in a high degree of clarity and depth in the sound you hear. A powerful reproduction of the sound space is also possible due to the wider dynamic range and higher resolution.

Dolby Digital
Dolby Digital is a revolutionary step up the path to realistic sound in the home.
It delivers six totally separate (discrete) channels of sound. Like Dolby Surround
Pro Logic, it includes Left, Center and Right channels across the front of the room. In comparison, Dolby Digital provides separate (discrete) Left Surround and Right Surround channels, for more precise localization of sounds and a more convincing, realistic ambiance. A subwoofer could be added to each channel, if desired. The sixth channel, the Low Frequency Effects Channel, will, at times, contain additional bass information to maximize the impact of scenes such as explosions, crashes, etc. All six channels in a Dolby Digital system are digital, which means that they can be transferred without loss from the producers' mixing console to your home playback system.

Dolby Pro-Logic
It is a decoding system for home theater sound. Dolby Digital is the successor to
Dolby Pro-Logic. Pro-Logic is actually four channels of sound that is reproduced through five speakers. The four channels are: left, center, right and surround channels. The surround channel consists of two speakers, and in Pro-Logic the same sound comes from both speakers. Pro-Logic is typically an analog system.

Built-in 5.1-ch Dolby Digital
This system with built-in Dolby Digital decoders accommodate source components, such as DVD players,
that output a non-decoded Dolby Digital data stream. Internally, this system decodes the signal into six discrete channels that are separately amplified and reproduced through five surround sound speakers and a subwoofer.
This feature maximizes audio reproduction
quality with DVD player built-in and makes your system ready for future Dolby Digital sources, such as digital TV, cable, and satellite broadcast systems.

DTS Digital Surround
In addition to Dolby Digital, this system features a built-in DTS (Digital Theater Systems) Digital Surround decoder. DTS is a high-performance discrete "5.1-channel" surround sound system similar to, but incompatible with, Dolby Digital.
An increasing number of DVD movie and music titles and even some CD music titles are being released with DTS Digital Surround encoding. With Daewoo Electronics' Digital Home Cinema System, you're ready for any digital surround source, whether Dolby or DTS.
